Savor was founded in July of 2014 in a sugar-covered Dallas apartment.

Founder, Kelli Watts, taught herself how to bake French macarons and then went on to develop her own proprietary recipes.  After sharing her macarons with friends and family, she began getting regular orders, which led to her quitting her job and creating her own company, Savor Pâtisserie.  Savor's macarons gained rapid popularity, and soon Neiman Marcus and Tea2Go were selling them in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.  Savor opened it's first brick-and-mortar location in January of 2016.

The rumors are true.

You’ve never tasted anything like a macaron, until you’ve bitten into one.  There’s truly nothing like it.  With a light crunch on the outside, followed by a soft, melt-in-your-mouth, flavor-filled interior, macarons are unexpected - in the best way.  You definitely won’t forget your first macaron.

so, how are our macarons different?

First, they’re gorgeous.  All macarons are cute, but we like to go a step further and hand-decorate each one, so that they are as pretty as they can bee.  Speaking of bees, have you seen our honey macaron?  Whether in their graphic, black and white gift boxes, or on their own, our macarons are Instagram-ready and make perfect gifts.  #savorthemoment

Second, they actually taste like something.  Some macarons have disappearing, subtle flavors that aren’t easily distinguishable.  Not ours.  We start with a perfect ratio of almond flour, egg whites, and sugar, and then add ample flavor to both the shells and the filling, giving our macarons a bold taste that doesn’t leave you wondering which one you just ate.  And, we use real, organic ingredients (hello, actual pistachios!) as much as we can, and aren’t interested in taking shortcuts with our flavors.

Lastly, size matters.  Our macarons are larger than normal, and we like it that way.  Still coming in at under 100 calories each, we make sure you get the best bang for your buck, and let you indulge without the usual dessert guilt.  Macarons aren’t nearly as much of a calorie commitment as, say, a cupcake or a bowl of ice cream, which means you can have more than one!  Plus, they’re made with almonds, so they’re pretty much healthy, right?

Each of Savor’s macarons is a flavor-filled, mini work of art that is unlike any other macaron out there.

MACARON: ma·ca·ron \ mä-kə-ˈrōnn.

a light, often brightly colored sandwich cookie consisting of two rounded disks made from a batter of egg whites, sugar, and almond flour surrounding a sweet filling, usually a ganache, buttercream, or jam.

Born to a French mother,  Kelli always had an interest in French culture, even though she grew up in West Texas.   After earning a degree in design, she moved to NYC where she first discovered macarons.  Upon moving back to Texas, she decided to teach herself how to make them in her apartment, and after much practice, she mastered the art.   She saw a macaron-shaped void in the Dallas food scene, and decided to start her own company selling the proprietary macarons she baked.  These days, Kelli can be found dreaming up new and exciting ideas for Savor, and teaching weekly baking classes.  To date, she has taught thousands of people how to successfully bake French macarons, and loves being able to share her passion with the world in this way.
